One of our favourite plants, Limnophila hippuridoides grows fairly tall with stalks reaching between 20 and 50cm in height. It’s delicate looking leaves can reach up to 10cm in width, and are featured with outwoard crooked shoots. Originally from Asia, this easy to grow plant is able to adjust to various conditions.
The leaves are green with a red-violet underside, and the whole leaf turns red-violet under ideal growth conditions. It is a vibrant growing plant, which willingly creates new, solid shoots from the base. Thinning of the oldest and longest shoots is recommended, in order to make room for such new shoots. This plant can very easily be a complete showstopper and centerpeiece for the aquarium.
