Microsorum pteropus, or Java Fern, is a highly variable species, and new varieties are easily bred. Microsorum pteropus ‘Narrow’ has, as expected, noticeably narrower leaves, which grow at a less acute angle from the stem than the normal Microsorum pteropus.
Leaves become 10-20 cm with a rhizome from 10-15 cm or more.
The plant attaches readily to roots and stones, but the rhizome should not be planted into the substrate as it may rot. This is a versatile and hardy plant and is suitable in just aobut any environment and in tanks both big and small.
